computers & equipment

Public Computers


The Library provides free access to the internet on computers and Wi-Fi.

  • Computers are available for public use, accessible with either a Library card or guest pass. Patron’s accounts must be free of fines and not expired.
  • Children under the age of 16 must have an adult with them, or they may use computers in the Children’s Department. 
  • Teens 16-17 will need a guest pass to access the computers.
  • There is a limit of two hours per day per person unless you are doing schoolwork, applying for jobs, etc.
  • Inappropriate material cannot be viewed on Library equipment.
  • The Library reserves the right to end a session due to abuse of computer privileges.

Printing & Copies 


  • Patrons may print and make copies of 10 pages per day free of charge and are limited to 50 pages per day.
  • Patrons may not bring their own paper. 

Scanning


  • The Library offers the equipment needed to scan documents, pictures, etc.
  • Scanned documents may be emailed or saved to a USB/Flash Drive.
  • There is no fee to scan documents.

Mobile Printing


  • Mobile printing is available for patron use.
  • Patrons can use the app "Princh" or print online. 
    1. When printing remotely or at the library: open your browser, go to print.princh.com and enter the 6-digit printer ID 108241 to select the printer.
    2. Upload your document(s).
    3. Adjust the settings. (Black & White, Color and quantity etc.)
    4. Enter your email address.
    5. Proceed to the front desk at The Shelby County Public Library to pay for and finalize your print job.
  • Patrons may print 10 pages per day free of charge.
  • Prints will be available at the circulation desk for 24hrs.

Faxes


  • Patrons may fax documents to locations in the continental United States and receive faxes at the Library.
  • The Library recommends a limit of 25 pages or under.
  • There is no fee to send a fax from the Library.
