Ronald R. Vanstockum, Jr.: Life & Landscapes

Join us at the library to welcome Ronald R. Van Stockum, Jr. as he talks about his new book, Surrounding Fort Knox, Including Southern Indiana. This book explores Southern Indiana and Fort Knox, focusing on the area's natural and cultural history. It is part of a series where Van Stockum uncovers lesser-known parts of Kentucky. He says, “If there are any places where a map doesn’t show the road very well, that’s where I’m going,” indicating that he prefers to explore without prior research. Van Stockum writes right after his explorations to capture his feelings using only pencil and paper. He does not worry about grammar. He has written 34 books in different genres, mixing science, history, and culture to give readers a deep understanding of Kentucky’s heritage.
