Grave Matter by Karina Halle

A dark romantic thriller that blends gothic, psychological, and science fiction elements. The story follows Sydney Denik, a mycologist who joins a prestigious foundation's research team on a remote island. As she delves deeper into the foundation's secrets, she uncovers paranormal occurrences, including ghosts, moving corpses, and unusual weather patterns, which lead her to question her sanity and the nature of the foundation itself. The novel also features a forbidden romance between Sydney and her psychologist, Wes Kincaid, amidst the escalating mysteries.
