Welcome to the Slow Burn Book Club!
We invite all members aged 18 and over to join us on the last Thursday of every month from 6:00-7:30 PM at the Carnegie Library Center.

Ready for spice, thrills, and intrigue? We’ll explore contemporary, buzz-worthy books that feature popular tropes, such as enemies-to-lovers, forbidden romances, unreliable narrators, and hidden secrets. Expect lively discussions that dive deep into themes, characters, and plot twists.

Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren

Tells the story of Macy Sorensen and Elliot Petropoulos, best friends who fall in love as teenagers, but are separated by a painful secret for eleven years. The novel alternates between their past, where they meet and fall in love, and the present, where they unexpectedly reunite. Macy is engaged to another man, but the reappearance of Elliot forces her to confront her past and the truth about their breakup. The story explores themes of first love, loss, grief, and the enduring power of love to heal.
